ATTIC WINDOWS
Instructor: Vicky Westmoreland - 801.424.1609 or e-mail
Class Time: 6 Hours (All Day)
Skill Level: All
Kit: N/A
Class Description: Want to learn to make perfect attic windows? We'll design and get started on a wall hanging with delights inside the windows. Participants can bring to class "picture perfect" fabric, your own dyed fabrics, rework, lace fabric photos or keepsakes. We'll frame them up with the same (easiest) or different sized windows (harder).
Supplies: BSK, Design Wall (I use a large piece of felt that I can put my work on and roll up and take home), rotary cutter, cutting mat and ruler, and masking tape. Graph paper can also be useful if you are used to working with it. Two optional items are the Joen Wolfrom "3-in-1 Color Tool" and a door peephole, camera or binoculars to audition fabric selections. I'll explain in class if you do not know about this wonderful technique.

Class Time: 6 Hours (All Day)
Skill Level: Intermediate
Class Description: This quilt requires some sewing on curves and appliqu. It is great fun combining orange, red, gold, gray, and black as well as blue, purple and gold for the center stars. You can use an assortment of scraps for the stars in gold, blue, purple, green or anything that suits your taste.

SLICED PINEAPPLE
Instructor: Saundra Cindrich - 801.224.9321 or e-mail
Class Time: 6 Hours (All Day)
Skill Level: All
Kit Fee: $1.00 kit (special 1" X 6" ruler that I use in paper piecing, if you need one) and $3.00 pattern
Class Description: A hit with all who've taken this clas before. This is an offset pineapple block that creates an absolutely spectacular effect and it is so easy using Saundra's "best techniques for paper piecing". Make a wall quilt, a table runner, a big quilt, a pillow - the ideas will just keep flowing once you get hooked on paper piecing and this unusal take on a very traditional block.
Supplies: BSK, ultra fine black permanent marker, something to mark on dark fabric with - I suggest a Clover white marking pen, a sheet of clear template plastic, flower pins, a glue stick suitable for fabric, neutral thread, if you have a 12" or larger Omnigrid square ruler bring it (but you don't need to buy one specially for this class. However, look for Joann's 40% off coupon if you want to buy one for yourself.), and one of those little clover irons is wonderful when doing paper piecing but it isn't a necessity.
